Some wedding days just have everything working in their favour — the right venue, the right couple, and the kind of autumn light that makes every frame feel like it was planned. Tiarne and Oliver's wedding at Redbrow Garden in Murrumbateman was exactly that kind of day.

The Venue

edbrow Garden is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Canberra region. Nestled in the rolling countryside of Murrumbateman, just a short drive from the city, it offers the kind of natural beauty that makes a photographer's job genuinely joyful. Ancient trees, a tranquil lake, rustic outbuildings and wide open skies—it's a venue that does a lot of the heavy lifting, and on an autumn day when the leaves are turning gold and red, it's simply breathtaking. The gardens provide an incredible variety of backdrops, allowing couples to enjoy beautiful wedding photos without ever needing to leave the property. Whether you're planning an intimate celebration or a larger gathering, Redbrow Garden combines relaxed country charm with some of the best scenery you'll find for a Canberra region wedding.

The Day

Tiarne and Oliver are exactly the kind of couple I love photographing. Easy with each other, completely unbothered by the camera, and genuinely excited about every moment of their day. From the quiet getting-ready moments through to the ceremony by the lake and portraits in the golden afternoon light, the whole day felt effortless.

The ceremony was held under the open sky with the lake as a backdrop — one of those settings where you barely have to think about composition because nature does it all for you. And the light in the late afternoon as we headed out for portraits was the kind that only comes around a handful of times a year — warm, golden, filtering through the autumn leaves in a way that made every shot feel like a painting.

The Moments

What I always aim to capture at any wedding is everything that happens between the planned moments—the laugh during the vows, the quiet look before walking down the aisle, or the piggyback that nobody planned but everyone will remember. Those genuine, unscripted interactions are often the memories that mean the most years later because they're the moments you can't recreate. Tiarne and Oliver gave me plenty of those throughout their day, and their wedding gallery remains one of my personal favourites for its warmth, personality, and authentic moments. Looking back through these photos, it's easy to see just how much joy and connection filled every part of their wedding day.
